Very similar to our White Faced Heron which I just posted a photo of - nicely timed capture with the little fish and I like the faint reflection on the water. Good composition and focus.

Photos like these make me appreciate nature even more now. The way the heron can capture a small fish like that with its narrow beak is awesome. Great job with finding a moment like this and capturing it. I like the reflection in the water as well, giving the heron more authority and presence in the photo.

perfect framing , great close up and view point - I love your position from the same height creating an illusion impression that you also stand inside of the waters loll
as always your shot is sharp with perfect contrast and genuine lighting - interesting factor is the reflection of the birds body in the waves

I saw one in a neighbor's goldfish pond that caught a fish that must have weighed a couple pounds. He struggled mightily but did manage to get it down. This guy will not have any such problems.

It may be a small catch, but judging from the expression you have captured, it made the heron happy. I like the softness in the details of the heron as well as the softness in the reflection. It adds an element of serenity to an ongoing natural event. Placement in the frame and colors are just right to complete the photo.

A beautiful picture of the Grey Heron standing in thigh high water with a small fish clasped in it's long bill seconds before it swallows it whole. a faint reflection is seen on the water's surface between the leaves floating on it. the rushes on the fark bank makeing a beautiful backdrop. beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
