Hello Jesuel, once again, you have an excellent piece here. The face, colors, and detail, are exceptional. I like the reflection of the background. Thanks for sharing this piece.

A nice perspective with good blending in the skin tones. I do think that you are more used to painting women and the rounded dark shadows beneath his breasts give a more female impression than this subject usually gets.

this is a great picture! I love working with oils ,just hate that it takes so long to dry. you have some wonderful shadowing going on and the detail on the crown and wound is amazing! Great job.

A good looking image of the crucified Jesus beginning his ascension. Your dramatic pose immediate demands interest and attention. The wound makes the situation very clear. Well painted!

great, fantastic piece. Did you know they have now done some photos of what they think Jesus looked like. I like your Jesus, he looks a bit like Rasputin to me, except is it Jesus? Are you thinking of the suffering of mankind? We all see Jesus from our own background. I once went to look after half a dozen young children at the 'One Love Centre ' /West Indian and Africans/ across the road to my home in London. They were all silently sitting and crayoning. I looked at what they were crayoning. Little girl looked at me oddly, Jesus ofcourse she said. She was drawing a black man! Taught me something! I lived two doors from a black church and their choir practiced on Wednesdays, so I always sat outside my home to listen. They put the television to shame. I always wanted to go but never dared, though we had numerous west indian pupils at the College where I taught and our Church and Father John /St Anthony's/ told me we would be a much poorer church without their mothers, who came to arrange flowers etc each morning. Excellent.

Jesus was a carpenter I always thought he would be more muscular than some of the classic images

his father Josef, was a carpenter. I don't think he was. If he was, not for long, as he was in his thirties when they crucified him and he had been preaching for a long time.

I'm glad I've finally seen a not so skinny Jesus Christ rendition!

He's more stocky with ribs not showing...
But the wound is dramatically rendered that it has the same impact with the famished version.

Fine features & smooth textures.

Thanks for sharing...

I think you achieved the Baroque art style that Caravaggio inspired with his low key/Chiaroscuro influence.
What I like most is that for me it Represents Christ after the crucifixion with him removing the crown of thorns. I don't know if that was your intention, but so many always show Christ's suffering, so it's nice to see the after when he was ready to go to our Heavenly Father.
Fine emotive painting J ~Man.
