I had no idea poinsettas were trees. Each Christmas we bought a plant for the house during my marriage, but not my parents home, /so it is an English thing, not Continental/ which my son laughingly says: 'she kills off by spring'. Not sure why, I did see something like this when teaching over there, in Naples but couldn't put a name on it. Beautiful cheery flower.

Thank you. Appreciating your comments. I neither thought this a tree. In the City Council nurseries we had huge mumbers delivered or we grew them from cuttings. We had some quite big results but never like this. This one is just round the corner.

This is a great entry for the selective color contest! The red flowers stand out so beautifully against the mostly black and white background. I like that you have red color in the roof tiles too. I think that balances the composition. Best of luck in the contest!

A beautiful & interesting picture of this giant Poinsettia tree in bloom it's red bracks surrounding the smaller flowers in their centre. Your selective colours makes the red glow out from the otherwise black and white photo. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera & editing techniques and sharp focus.
