This is wonderful artwork with photography.

It has all, a magical view.

Crashing seas with fantastic capture of foam, that beautiful sky and the dark rocks which add balance and perspective

Not to forget David's poem going in tandem with this.

This is a beautiful image Steve. The pov is great with the splash of the waves in the immediate foreground. Makes for a dramatic entrance into the scene. The colors in the sky look good and the shine across the rocks and the water is awesome.

Thank you so much Grace for your wonderful review and artistic comments. Thank you especially for your more than generous rating.

This wave caught me off guard. It came in and exploded so violently that 2 seconds after this shot it completely washed over me and my iPhone. Not too bright on my part. Since I was already soaked I decided to stay there and continue shooting until the sun went down. Live and learn. Thank you again Grace ~ Steve

The only thing that got hurt from the drenching was my pride. There were a lot of people watching me shoot the waves and sunset. The all got a good laugh! So did I ; )

This is such a STUNNER! I like the frozen froth of the waves hitting the rocks, you have captured so much detailed texture in this angry sea under an even angrier sky seemingly ablaze with fury.It seems like the intensity of the sunset is causing the sea to boil, the resulting steam churning into darkening clouds rising into the heavens.A definite artistic capture made even more so by your enhancements and a perfect poem by David!

Fantastic shot! I love the foam from the waves splashing against the rocks. Partial sun behind the clouds is beautiful. Very nice composition. Great lighting. Good focus and sharp detail. A beautiful sea landscape. Well done.

Might just be me but it seems to be a bit fuzzy, other than that its great composition and very good lighting considering its sunset!

Thank you so much for your review Andrea. You are right about the 'fuzzy' look. I used a filter in Photoshop to give this a painted look with light/fine brush strokes. You have a good eye. Thank you again Andrea ~ Steve

This scene is intense and very well focused.
I absolutely love the action in the ocean against the rock.
The clouds are especially trippy <3 Great hustle!

Love the drama you created, the color and the water frozen in the foreground gave the feeling of being right there. The way the sun is peaking out from behind the cloud is beautiful. The DoF is also great.

Steve, this is so awesome and beautiful! The notes say you used some filters to add drama. And you got it, there's enough drama for one image. At the same time it's balanced/ controlled amount of drama. The colors are marvelous! The whole composition is like a miracle. Nicely done my friend! My compliments with the highest raiting! Bravo!

Thank you so much Lucas. I am Very appreciative of your artistic review and Very Generous rating. This wave actually caught me by surprise. About two seconds after I got this photo the wave burst so high and with such force it completely covered me and my iPhone. I was totally drenched. Not too smart on my part. So I figured that once soaked I may as well stay there and keep shooting. Which is what I did until the sun set. Thank you again my friend for your review and More than Generous rating ~ Steve

I want a phone that takes photos like this. Throw in your expertise with some mixed media, too! Love the foamy waves that have SO much texture. The sunset (sunrise?) is gorgeous. Please tell me it was real and you didn't create it.

Thank you so much for your review and rating. At the risk of boring you with too much information I will tell you how I did this.

First I looked for a spot to take the photo from. In this case I walked all along the shore to see where the waves were breaking with a bit of drama. The place had to have the crashing waves, interesting foreground as well as a position I could get in to catch them and the setting sun at the same time. I can tell you right now that it is impossible to catch a scene like this by trying to snap a photo at the right moment. At least I can't. What I do is get the rocks and sun and clouds in the iPhone screen. The I watch out of the corner of my eye for a big wave to approach the shore. Once I see one coming in and it is about 10 yards off shore (about 5 seconds before crashing against the rocks), I hit the Burst mode on the phone. That starts taking pictures at a rate of about 6-7 per second. The wave comes in, crashes and explodes into the air and then quickly settles down. All this time I am bursting shooting 30-40 pictures. When reviewing the resulting pictures I can watch them like a movie of the wave coming in and exploding. Normally there are 2-3 photos that have captured the exploding wave in all its drama. I save those and delete the rest. This particular evening I shot about 50 bursts each ranging from 20 - 60 pictures. 90% are deleted. The good ones I then start to work on in after photo. I use Smart Photo editor (it is inexpensive, easy to use and can do so many things to enhance a photo). I am artistically challenged so I just keep making adjustments until I think it looks good. And that's it. So this is a real photograph that has been enhanced to add drama and eye appeal.

Please forgive me for saying so much. I hope it helps. Oh, the burst mode is great for capturing any kind of action from dogs jumping to people playing football. Start the burst just before the action begins and stop when it is over.

Thank you again for your wonderful review ~ Steve

P.S. This wave caught me off guard. It exploded much larger than I anticipated and completely washed over me and my iPhone. Once soaked there was no need to move. I just kept shooting until the sun went down.
