Another superb accomplishment, Steve, in both the wonderfully composed shot itself and the adept post processing to take it to another level of excellence. Your effect on the waves is fabulous and fits the title perfectly. Spot on lighting and DOF too. Love it! Ed.

Wow. Thanks so much Ed for your great review and More than Generous rating. This wave caught me off guard. It exploded much larger than I anticipated and completely washed over me and my iPhone. Once soaked there is no need to move. I just kept shooting until the sun went down. Thanks again Ed ~ Steve

And drama it is. Very nice "dramatic" photograph with those up close and personal wave splashes with the cliff in the middle ground and that sunset lit sky in the background. This is a pleasure to look at. Reasons for my five star vote.

You are welcome. Hum, just don't back off a cliff trying to get the right angle on a shot. I rather enjoy looking at your work.

Steve this is wonderful! By far one of my favorites and I'll tell you why. The force of the water in the foreground contrasting to that of a calmness in the background gives you a sense that's something is happening. Not sure did see the 10 Commandments? But when the angel of death comes across the full moon it looks like that of a hand with very long fingers. You had that feel with the skies and how the clouds do look like hands in a way covering the Sun. Is this an an apocalyptic vision for you? The Rock in the middle ground offers hope as did The Rock in the Ten Commandments that Moses stood on raising his staff parting the Red Sea. It has a very nice biblical, mythological and surreal feeling to it.

Wow. What a wonderfully spiritual and artistic interpretation of this scene Kurt. Had not thought about that yet you are spot on. It's funny how I am artistically challenged and know nothing about art. Before a shoot I always ask God to show me where to go for the best pictures and then when to push the button on the iPhone. I simply do as I am told. Then in after photo work, again I am totally clueless as to artistic scenes, the images seem to appear before me and I simply follow instructions as to what filters and modes to use. It still amazes me when I see a finished work. That is Too Much Information. Sorry about that.

Steve,
A magical sunset over the sea, the sun's disc colouring the sky in shades of orange & gold that glows through & also colours the clouds. The frothy spray thrown up as the waves crash onto the rocks is tinted gold by the rays of the dying sun. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Think Steve you have posted something similar in the past, but this is still a good strong image and the post work has given this a unique richness and the viewpoint really makes the most of the waves etc...Brian

Love the colors and the surf. Energetic and relaxing. I would love to see a wider view. The oranges of the sun provide a depth contrast to the white froth. Beautiful capture.

This is a very beautiful and dramatic photo! I like how the waves are splashing against the rocks. The sunset (or is it a sunrise?) colors are lovely. Very well done!
