You never know what kind of interesting patterns Mother Nature will create where water is involved! A great photo of this abstract icy image,sorta reminds me of a stained glass pattern,very harmonious and peaceful looking.You photographed this at a great angle,with a nice diagonal feel.

I like how you directly photographed the ice waves while omitting the other parts like the sky and context which takes place, and I think that's great. It provides a sense of abstraction and makes us focus on the subtle aesthetics that these ices waves provide, showing the beauty of the randomness of nature. Seeing the muted blue hues along with the slight reflections of the sun all come together to provide both abstract design elements along with a great nature photo.

Thanks for sharing this unusual phenomenon of winter. Your image reminds me of a quilt or stained glass window. You must have been on your knees to get such an interesting perspective. Very pretty colors too!

Nature can be an amazing artist! Those really are interesting patterns, and I could probably have fun playing around with that image too. Abstract patterns make a great starting point for creating something even more unusual.

You have a good eye Grace. The patterns in this photo are random and interesting as they have been created by nature. The varying degrees of thickness and the variety of textures also add another degree of interest. White balance and lighting are well managed to make the details stand out clearly and accentuate in a natural setting.
