Very nice sharply focused Grey Heron in the Thermoregulation Pose trying to stay warm.
Your white balance is handled well and your eye clarity is superb.
Great capture Fred ;)

Very nice capture of this grey heron standing on one leg to keep warm, he has his neck tucked down too! Nice side profile view of his face , good clear eye!
Well focused, this image is clear, exposure is managed well, colors and tones are natural. Well composed and presented!

Love how sharp this is. To see his eye with this clarity is great. I like the simplicity of the capture with all the sharpness of our visual focus being on the bird with no clutter around him. Lovely, nice work!

    wow; thanks so much again for your nice comments and top rating;
    I noticed that you like wildlife: I posted in the last months dozens of pics of wild animals taken in Botswana, where I go often;

Apparently it is cold. I guess the bird stands on one leg and fluffed its feathers to increase its body temperature. The Heron is pin sharp focused. The photo is well exposed. The colors are realistic. The framing is adequate. The composition is balanced.

Haha what a beautiful capture - yes he does not look very happy, loll and I am so amazed how you always get these special momentum's like this again - I just love everything about it , the backside his side portrait ad only one sticky skinny leg
fantastic use of space - excellent general impression creating smiles, as usual clear and sharp with perfect contrast and soft lighting - the sky color fits perfectly and is a nice uniform color contrast -
a very neat shot , great job

A beautiful bird and an excellent shot. The colors are great and the detail in both the face and feathers is very good. I would definitely clone out that branch at the top and maybe the twigs at the bottom.

Nice shot of my favorite bird. I think this bird is fascinating to watch and photograph. I have made so many shots of them and just can't get enough! Good job with this one!

Looking at your photo made me think that I might just be a grey heron also as I don't like that kind of weather either. The look in its eye says it all. Nice placement in the frame. Sharply focused. Colors and tones are natural.

Fred,
A beautiful picture of the Grey Heron standing on one leg it's head turned with it's golden eye watching you out of its corner, the wind tossing it's plumes about. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus so not only are it's feathers very sharp but also some of their filaments.
Susan

And neither do I! Had lots of it here during the last two days. Your fine and traditional composition does suggest that your heron is suffering out there. Like the long beak and feather detail. Nicely taken!
