These Indian Runner Ducks are so interesting to see, they stand so tall and their colors are beautiful ! This is a nice capture of this gathering, they seem to be on a mission.
Well focused, clear image with good light management. Colors and tones are beautiful and appear natural. Well composed and presented!

Interesting notes! Equally interesting shot! .You have shot these ducks well. Good they did't start running the moment they spotted you!:):) The light, and the composition have worked well. Good effort!

An interesting shot. They do seem to be in a hurry to get away from you. Maybe they have been listening to the cormorants. A very nice composition with great colors.

No these are not Khaki Campbell ducks Fred.
They are Indian Runner Ducks.
They stand erect like penguins and, rather than waddling, they run.
Great first posting here and rare find.
Nice capture showing how they stand erect like a penguin.
Great capture ;)

    thanks a lot Sandra for your nice comments and indicating the right name; since they were introduced, they stay in the same area, an extention of the lake, so no problem to take more pics;

Very different looking ducks. I never have seen anything like them, but wondering if the difference in the color of the bills distinguishes males (yellow ) from females (black)? I like the fact that you have captured the profiles and the backs which also show difference in plumage. They all seem to be intently focused on the same subject. Interesting composition.

    thanks a lot Charlie;
    I hope Sange will comment about the bills; male or female? or different species?

Cute shot.Looks like they are waiting to catch a bus. Maybe the different colored beaks indicates male or female. Good framing. Can't tell there size. Is that a large rock ? Good color, sharp focus. Well done.

Hi, super gold. The way they walk, they look like penguins. I am always amazed by how many species of ducks there are. I learn a lot by reviewing posts on this site. Sharp focus as usual and well framed. Thank you for sharing

    Fred,
    Khaki Campbells are runner ducks. So called because of their upright stance.
    I Googled them there are apparently four colours they come in. these maybe the dark variety.

    last ime, very similar at the same location she called them khaki Campbell

That is neat about the variance of color/neutral of their beaks. I love their green feathers.
This is a neat shot of this duck congregation :)

Not sure how the word "Khaki" got into the name, as I see none of it in these ducks! Your nice nature image is well composed, sharp with good exposure. Nicely done!
