Nice capture of a Cormorant taking off. Natural colors and tones in the scene. Good lighting, nice detail, sharp focus, good DoF, and well balanced photo and nicely composed in the frame. Overall, a Very Beautiful Wildlife Photograph, well done Fred!

You're Very Welcome!

I like the action shot of this photo, with the clarity captured very well of the bird in motion. It's a great camera that is able to get all the details, even when the object is in full motion. I feel a sense of urgency in this photo, where the bird is taking off, and the other one is deciding when to do so as well. It's great to see photos like these that depict action in nature, showing creatures on the move. I like the grayish tones of the colors all around the photo, and how it merges all the elements together.

May be they think you are going to shoot them with a real gun!:) But you appear to be 'trigger-happy' and catch them in all kinds of movements. Interesting shot! Thanks for sharing!

A very well timed shot that is beautifully composed. I like the way the one on the right seems to be watching seems to be watching the take off like a judge in a diving competition.

The bird on the left says. Look I can fly ! The one on the right says. Big deal so can I. It's amazing how you caught him just as he is taking off. Well composed. The whole image comes to life with the two curved branches and clear blue sky. The bird perched on the right gives you depth. Sharp focus, perfect framing. Well done.

Hi, supergold. I think they are fairly large birds, aren't they? And, they eat fish. I think I saw in photo or documentary them diving for fish. They compact their bodies and go straight down. Sharp image. Thank you for sharing

The fact that at least one in each photo does that for you does make for a good shot.
It's almost like they're showing off ;-)
Great capture!

Maybe they are just being super careful?! Your fine composition captures a nice action moment. The cormorant on the right looks rather puzzled at the sudden take off! Nicely taken!!
