Wonderful portrait of the coyote which looks a very fluffy canine. The eyes are focused sharply and the colors and exposure well handled. Thanks for sharing.

Great close up portrait of this coyote! I like how he's looking right at you. Those yellow eyes are really cool. Excellent sharpness and exposure.

This Coyote looks so sad like its spirit has been broken. This is a common problem with many animals that are put in a cage. If you look into their eyes of most of the mammals, you can see just how unhappy they are. Many people would say that their safer in a zoo where they get hand fed and doctors can take care of them. These mammals want to live free as their past generations did , and for one, I feel for them.

Thank you. I often feel sorry for captive animals too. I don't know if this coyote has never known freedom or not. I would hope it doesn't know what it's missing.

Nice animal portrait. But, make no mistake. The coyote is not looking at you with benign intentions. I have seen this stare a few times. Ears down does mean anger or fear just before the fangs come out. But ears at a 45 degree angle coupled with those riveting eyes spells danger on the kill level. This is a hunter's stare that you captured very well. Reasons for my five star vote.

Great use of contrast with depicting this photo. I like how this is both a portrait of a coyote, and also looks like he's in his element, looking for adventure, with the light shining brightly on it with the shadows underneath. The harmony of colors does very well with the various hues of browns and grays, the fuse very well together.

A very nice nature photo posted here! Your, fine, full and central composition allows us an enjoyable view of your coyote. Like the eyes and fur detail. Sharpness and exposure are good. Nicely done!

Your photo clearly shows the intensity and focus in this coyote's eyes. In fact, I feel that it is sending me a message that says "please let me return to my natural habitat". Your focus is sharp and I really like that you have captured the spirit of this canine so well. I live in a small enclave surrounded by a 140 acre nature preserve. The deer herd has grown so the coyote pack also is growing. Sometimes they show up within 20 feet of me which I find very exciting. Thanks for sharing your photo.

Excellent closeup of this guy, Grace! I'm not a fan of these but am a fan of your excellent shot! We have a pack of these right by our house. Last year we heard a rabbit squeal and suddenly heard a pack of pups go crazy. I have had their tracks in my yard and am not too happy about it, always worry about my kids and dog. This is one animal I dont want to share images of with you! Lol. But this is a very, very nice image Grace!

Thank you! It's too bad they are so urbanized now. I wouldn't want to hear any prey being captured :( I encountered coyotes while walking dogs once, and that was a little terrifying as I tried to calmly back away :)

Grace,
A beautiful full face portrait of this Coyote it's golden eyes fixed on you as it watches you every move. It's ears pricked to catch every word you utter. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.
