haha! It looks like he made a tunnel in the snow so he could explore the ground. I guess he didn't feel like he has enough food stored for the winter, and need to search for more.

This chunk is quite the hunk :)
Love the way he is hunkered down into the snow. I would be out there feeding them every day with seeds.

A beautiful picture of this Grey Squirrel partially covered in snow as it enjoys the Sunflower seed it's just uncovered. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Thank you! I found a baby squirrel when I was a child and my mother raised it and kept it for almost 20 years. He used to walk on a harness :)
