A sad reflection of First World living when even on a cold day in winter with snow on the ground people will walk past a person looking for "Alms" just a small donation to buy food or lodging for the night... He Might buy himself a Drink with it? So I'll let him go hungry too! Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with concern & superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

thank you. You cannot see the depth of the snow. I took a photo of the weather /they are like clocks over here/ and it was 20 below, this homeless woman was well over forty years old. I felt a freak stopping and talking to the street homeless, as no one seemed to care!

I am a bit confused about what to say here. The focal point is not obvious in the photo. Perhaps a different angle. As far as your write-up, do you still think the USA are bad people? Right now I feel our government is not showing a very positive side to our country, but there are lot of really good people that live here and would give you the shirt off their back.

thank you- sorry, but I did not say I THOUGHT THAT USA are bad people. I love them. I have a GI major from Omaha to thank for my life and I loved everymoment of time I spent in Arkansas, maybe you did not read it properly? I said we are taught that. The reason I put all of Ontario in the background is to show the reality of the situation. I could go down our city and photograph any number of homeless people. It was not about her alone, though she IS the focal point, sitting there all day on a bucket in the snow, people walking past all day, with barely a glance..it was a real situation.

Yes, I did misunderstand what you were talking about with the USA. I find it sad that you are taught that about us. We have a huge homeless population problem in the US. Usually, in bigger cities. I live in a very small town and we have a homeless shelter and you don't see people on the sidewalk, etc. I don't know the answer to the problem. I doubt there is one answer to make everything right.

Yes, I lived in a small town in Arkansas, and it was the same, wonderful. I so wanted to stay, but the lawyer said that with no birth certs etc /former DP/ even though I was self sufficient, and had bought my house cash, I had no chance for stay and to sell up immediately and go, no one needs language teachers--but I have been to cities on Poetry conventions, and there have been street people. I have to say they look well fed and in much better condition than ours, out in the rain day and night
