Hey Susan! What a really nice photograph of this female blackbird you have shared, she is beautiful! The colors are awesome and those red crabapples really add interest to the photo. I like the light brown feathers and the way the light is reflecting off of them, it makes them look so soft! Thanks for sharing!

Mary,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this female Blackbird in the Crabapple tree. The male Blackbird has a jet Blackbird plumage compared with this female's dark brown plumage.

A cute & candid capture!!
I like the catch light with the sideview pose.
The striking red berries stand out.
Verdant overtone!
Subdued illumination.
Compact framing. I like the horizontal branch above...
Thanks for sharing...

She keeps an suspicions eye out, but seems attracted by the apples. The crap apple tree provides a nice natural frame for her. The photo is focused and well exposed. The bird and the fruit show refinement. Light and colors are refreshingly realistic. The photo is well composed and framed.
I appreciate your informative comments about the bird.

This is such a lovely entry into a contest like this Susan, and I especially like how the branch With crab apples on the left work as a Nice and Natural framing. You have captured the eye of the bird really well, and the bird is also standing out well against the softened background.
The photo is Sharp showing Clear and well defined details all over, and the exposure is very good.
The photo is nicely cropped and the bird has got a fine placement within the frame. I also like the thin frame you have added. A truly lovely and well taken photo With a very good DOF, and I wish you Luck With the contest.
