Your technique is interesting. The entire artwork shows intriguing textures. Although, this is an abstract, a snow covered landscape emerges after a few seconds looking at it. The contradiction of the landscape and sky colors is impressive. The painting is well composed and framed.

Thank you for your five star vote and especially Your comments recognizing it as an abstract that transforms into a landscape after a few seconds of looking at it. I could jump for joy as that is exactly the illusion I have been chasing for a few years now.

Maybe the Donner party saw this image as they plowed through toward California. The blue sky is so beautiful...yet deceiving. This is a superb painting with so much texture and life.

I imagine some of your beautiful northern States, like Montana etc have scenes like this. I wonder if you saw it briefly at some time, or part of it. I have at last managed to retrack a lot of mine picture memories, and guess at some, but there is one I cannot place, which I think was when I was small and the USA Omoha GI Major under whose care my mother and I were when we got to the American sector, placed us to work on a farm in Bavaria. Each farmer had to take in two refugee families. When I eventually met my mother years later, she would not talk of the past, but pictures stay in your head. This might be like that, stayed there to be opened up at a later date.

A very nice painting that shows off your deft use of the knife. I like the perspective and the wintery look. Best of luck in the contest.

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments. I appreciate both. So far it has taken me about twelve years of learning the pallet knife to get to this point. I have much yet to learn.

'Dangerous Crossing' makes for a very enjoyable and nicely Out of the Ordinary presentation!
It's a really 'Good Show',I'd say! : )

This is a very well created realistic cold and icy scene, very well shown snow covered ground with ice and open water , I like the way you show this on the slope. It's a beautiful scene under a wintery sky. This looks like home to me! It's 10 below zero F here in Anchorage today! Nice work! Best wishes to you in this contest!
