This is a romantic and dreamy scene, I like the placement of this couple in love on the left and in the shadows creating a silhouette of the couple and the four benches in the scene. I think the black and white rendering was a good choice as it quiets the scene and allows us to follow the light from upper right to the couple on far left, well presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

A pretty good entry into the competition posted here! Your fine and dramatic composition gives us a stark view of your location. The contrasts offered are very enjoyable. Well taken!

Brenda,
An atmospheric picture of this silhouetted couple walking along the pathway between the Links & the beach up there in Whitney Bay in Northumberland on the North East coast of England exposed to the worst storms the the North Sea can throw at it in winter. The light from the setting sun on or just below the horizon with low clouds rolling in over the sea & the black & white conversion adds atmosphere. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera & editing techniques and sharp focus. Good luck in the contest.

This is an interesting back-light photo. To convert to black and white was a perfect idea. The monochromatic emphasizes the lightened clouds and their reflections in the water. The silhouettes of the benches and the couple at left accentuates the clouds and reflections further. The small panorama format is excellent. The composition is balanced.

Very good entry for the contest Brenda. I like what you've done here to create this image of Whitley Bay - I live on the East Coast of Yorkshire, so not so far away! I like how the silhouettes of the two figures contrast so well with the brightness over the sea, emphasized by the use of black and white. Great composition. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

Suzanne thank you for a very complimentary review. You will know the atmosphere of this coastal area as you live so near.. i often used to visit the Yorkshire coast when I lived most of the year in Newcastle. We are lucky to have such areas.
