Although its busy and there might have been a better angle to get a better photo,i think its captured a tale of two points of view,without being sexist it sort of tells a story of the two sexes,women talking and men just interested in their hobby,sort of funny in a way,good use of observation...Brian

This is a great look at people spending time on the pier! From the way the woman is holding her hat it looks like it must be windy there. There are a lot of people fishing and some people even brought their dogs. An interesting scene.

this is quaint in the life of a trip for fish on a boat. Not sure if the woman or fishing or just tagging along for the ride.. seems all busy up the other end of the boat. I would have like to see a fish on somebodies line though.

    Your nice review appropriately sums up how I felt about the scene!

Alright, I have waited long enough to say something. This has really good composition between the positive spaces and the negative space. The rail line coupled with the diminishing sizes of the people create a nice perspective. I don't know how, but somehow I get the feeling of a ships movement in this photograph. Must be some old memories being attached. Anyway, this is a very nice photograph. Reasons for my five star vote.

    I am very appreciative of your kind and detailed review! Maybe the pier was moving up and down in the tide?

    You are welcome. Or, maybe it is the small choppy surface of the water that brings back a memory.

an excellent candid capture Priit of a very common scene; women just chattting while men work hard to get some food for the family; Sorry I'm just joking;

You captured the atmosphere of the Santa Monica pier very nicely. Great energy and movement and captures the imagination. What are they talking about? Nice color and contrast.

Such a classic scene here Nik. Women talking. Men doing.

Women are "Who and What" communicators.

Men are "Why and How".

Such a universal thing that is seen the world over. Great human story Nik ~ iPhone7

This is a typical scene around the world - although we do get some women fishing occasionally :) Like the pov you have used and the light and shadow on the jetty is good. Nicely captured a moment in time. :)

Great depth of field and clear focus. I think I would have been with the fishermen. I love to fish, but it has been years since I have. The ladies don't know what they are missing.
