I absolutely love the texture on this painting! The shadowing on the clouds looks a little off but may have looked better if the white and gray were blended a bit more. The depth of this painting is stunning. I just love it. Very beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments. I appreciate both. As to the clouds, I assume you have never seen how dark and light clouds can be nor even black clouds pass over a distant white and black cloud background. I hope that some day you will enjoy that experience.

Nice use of the palette knife technique.There is a nice contrast between the rough angular shapes of the terrain to the openers if the majestic sky.

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments. And thank you for seeing the contrast. It took me more time thinking about how to separate the land from the sky while still maintaining a unified painting than to actually paint it.

One of my favourite tool to use is the palette knife especially with landscapes and moreso with city scape,ideal for buildings and the joy of putting several paints on your knife at the same time and pulling it over the canvas and observing what effect such has ! Your piece is very well done with good effect throughout and excellent tonal control of the chiaroscuro technique you apply

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments. I appreciate the shared knowledge that you are a pallet knife painter. I personally prefer to mix various color shade on the pallet and then spot or drag the knife through, then stroke the canvas. One simply cannot get the mixture and clarity of color any other way. But, I will experiment with the method you described. Thank you.

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments. Rule of thumb is the one third measure between land and sky or sky and land. It took some time to figure out how I could split the canvas in half, get away with it, and allow the viewer to enjoy seeing both sections of sky and land together in a unified presentation.

A very impressive painting of the Grand Canyon,excellent use of light and shadow,wonderful sense of depth.I like the realistic cloud patterns and the gradiation of the blues in the sky. A beautiful landscape,with impressive artists notes!

Very well done! The clouds in the sky really stand out and add depth to the subject area, I really like how detailed the canyon walls and cliffs are detailed. The scene is balanced well with light and dark areas.
