Pat, this is an unusual shot from my point of view. Usually rainbows form from reflection off of water droplets in the air. I wonder if there was a slight amount of fog int he valley that caused the sunlight to reflect and form a rainbow?
You captured a large DOF in this image, sharp from the foreground to the background, well done.
Great composition also boosts the effectiveness of the image.

Actually, I believe that this is a rare find; a rainbow that does not touch the sky. I wonder if it has anything with latitude. Anyway, it is a beautiful photograph. Reasons for my five star vote.

Nicely captured. It took me a minute to see the rainbow . It's a most unusual position for a rainbow below the mountains! Great composition with the highlighting of the green meadows. Nice scene!

This composition sends a message of nature's radiance and glory. It has all the elements of the beauty that exists all around us. It has a layered look, taking us from the flowers in the foreground to the taller pine tree pointing to the rainbow, and then on to the hills in the background and finally to the beautiful party cloudy, blue sky. The lighting and colors in your photo are excellent and well balanced.
