A beautiful subject and an equally fine shot. I like the lighting and the excellent profile. His colors are beautiful and both the detail in his plumage and the sparkle in his eye are outstanding.

I like the accuracy of this photo, showing the detailed textures of not only the robin and its feathers, but also of the tree branch. I like also how the light reflects off the back of the robin on the left, and how it helps create a texture gradient that really fleshes out this photo. The colors look soft, and I like that pale green background color so that no color dominates the entire photograph.

I think the Bullfinch is such a lovely and impressive looking bird, and I am happy every time I see it on my feeder. You have pictured this charmer so well, and I like so much the way the light is falling on his back. I also like a lot the background, and how well the bird is standing out from it.

Your photo is Nice and Sharp and it is such Clear and well defined details to be seen in the bird. I also think the exposure is very good.

The format and framing is just Perfect and I like the diagonal placement of the branch. Also the bird is well placed within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo Susan, and With an excellent DOF.

    Annie,
Thanks a million for your thoughtful & detailed review on this male Bullfinch... they are really eye catching birds.. the last two years I've had one or two young appear in the garden...they are all brown but the same shape as the parents.

Well that little fellow doesn't look as though he has been going hungry during the winter. Very puffed up with pleasure - good composition and color and your focus is sharp. Cheers Mary

I like your captures of European birds very much. I learn a lot from your photos and your comments. The photo is excellent focused and exposed and has good depth. The bird shows refinement of detail at its body and plumage. The colors are realistic. The shallow background informs about the environment, but is not distracting. The presentation on a diagonal branch is eye pleasing. The photo is well composed and framed.

    Vincent,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this male Bullfinch. Do you have a garden where you can put out Feeders with sunflower seeds, Fat Balls & Freeze dried Meal Worms if you can after a little while you will be surprised at the number of Birds that will visit.
