we sometimes get pink skies like that and it generally is the prelude for a morning of frost and cold. Shepherd's delight!! This is lovely the way it is reflected in the 'stream' or is it a river frosted over. I was watching a tv documentary yesterday from Scottish fishermen who were saying that the ice-pancakes are coming so far south now it is making it difficult for them to fish for lobsters etc. In my mind I have been re-organising a world with no ice caps! It is my nature, I never look back, but what I can do with the future.

Well at this very moment it's 39 degrees out where I live and is 50 degrees inside. So... I am pretty much a human popsicle!
The soft pastel colors and glow of the setting sun is beautiful .
Fine focus, exposure and great details.
Nicely done Pat ;)

Thank you so very much Sandra, at the moment, it is 10 below zero, I think I am tired of winter and we still have a few more months to go , we can get snow through the month of April!

I like how the ice partially ends just before the lake does, revealing that gradient of color reflecting back at us the warm colors of the sky. Those colors dominate the entire photo, with the oranges and coral colors bouncing all over the snow, complemented by the light blues inside the shadows. I feel a sense of warmth from this photo as a result, a nice reprieve from the freezing arctic weather that dominates these landscapes.

The contradiction of the golden sky with the snow covered inlet and the mighty snow covered mountain in the background is stunning. The reflection in the open water is fascinating. The photo is excellently focused and exposed and has great depth. It is expertly framed. The composition is balanced.

A very nice shot that captures the cold very well despite the warm colors. The exposure for the snow is excellent and the details are very well shown.

Once again a beautiful scene Pat the colors are so peaceful and calming. I like the thick snow in foreground with the reflection in the splash of water not frozen. Real pleasure to view.

Oh! The beauty of this whole scene is breathtaking! I enjoy the tones as well <3
This would be a great photo to paint! Would you mind if I take a crack at it? I'd use a 16"x20" canvas...

Wow, Pat what an incredible shot! Such beautiful color and an interesting landscape full of texture, light, shadow and wonder. I could have stood there all day just mesmerized by it all. I love your inclusion of the snow covered rocks in the foreground leading to the reflection in the waters where the ice has started to melt. The mountain in the background of course, demands the viewer's attention but not before we enjoy all else that comes before it. What a perfect composition.
