It's somewhat comical to see the cat peeking from behind the tree. I can see the group of ducks laughing at it, thinking it's not a threat after thinking it was some bigger wild cat but instead this cute cat comes out of the woodwork to see what's going on.

A great shot. I once had a cat that would sit on the bank looking down at the ducks. Once they had ducklings and the cat would slink, belly dragging, to the edge of the water. It crouched and finally sprang into the lake. She was shocked to hit water and sprang back in one jump. Strange how they can become so fixated when stalking.

The ducks are a new variety to me and look reasonably safe from the cat who is probably wishing they weren't on water. Nicely composed with the light falling on the cat well.

Awe! Kitty goes duck hunting!
So cute!
I'm surprised the ducks don't see the stalking feline lol.
I hope his endeavors were successful ;-).
Great capture!

they know that the cat will never enter the water

Haha it would cool if the ducks were taunting the cat for being scared of swimming. Then again inside my head are fun cartoons playing 😂 lol

Fred,
A beautiful picture of the Indian Runner Ducks swimming in your lake under the observation of a ginger Tom Cat half hidden behind the trunk of the lakeside tree his face highlighted by a sunbeam. the drakes green heads gleaming in the light while the water is reflecting the sky above. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

This is full of humour, and recently I am seeing this more in your posts, I like it and it makes an appealing view ... amazing what a larger screen can do Here we have quite an interesting scene of your cat half hiding observing a bunch of ducks who ate totalling getting on with their own business. I bet they know she is there and the leader is saying. "act normal, keep quiet, don't look just follow me"... The take is not just amusing it has fine detail .. i like the tree trunks and forna on the bank. The sun seems to strike pussy on the face making a nice highlight. The ducks dark feathers add excellent contrast on the rippled highlighted water. It's all together a very nice pic.

Hello there. Wow, that's amazing that you only noticed the cat after the fact. What perfect timing for him to pop in for the picture. Those ducks are looking tasty to him. Lol. Very nice! -Kerry
