I like the playing with bright colours on the dark background. It looks really impressive. Close to or far away. It is less than realistic but rather striking as a composition.

I like this very much. It has an unusual colour pallet that works very well. I particularly like the blue rock shadows and outlines. The rock at the bottom has a lovely textured look. Whatever distance for observing a person will see different aspects. I find the longer you look at something slightly away rather than near, the mind fills in and it can look slightly different each time. I often am unsatisfied at close quarters, then I put it up to view nearby at a distance for a day or two. I find it helps me to visualise any details and work them in. This is a really nice piece and I also like how you framed it.

Thanks,,, It doesn't really have a frame but I found this was the best way to photograph the piece.
