Your perspective and placement of the dead tree in the foreground are like an exclamation point on what has transpired here. The B & W rendering also adds to the drama of Mother Nature's taking back what is hers. Focus and clarity are sharp showing excellent detail and clarity throughout the scene. Excellent camera techniques and a good eye overall. Great contest entry.

brilliant and atmospheric shot. loving the composition and the way it has all come together. it looks almost like a lone tree, on a forgotten battlefield.

The dilapidated tree trunk looks like a pile of rotting bones of animals while the souls of the death found refuge in the sky. The landscape looks desolate. The monochromatic emphasizes the mood of the landscape dramatically. The photo is excellently focused and adequately treated with mixed media. The composition and framing are perfect.

A great black and white contest entry! I see a possible winner here because this one is great! The dead or burned tree divides the photo into two halves. The stormy sky is magnificent! My brain sees it in color with vivid tones. Golden like proportions of the sky and the water and the ground. Excellent depth of the field! The clarity and sharpness are brilliant! My adoration with the highest raiting! Bravo my friend!

A very well composed shot, I like the way the dark clouds really add depth to entire area and the darker background seems to add distance. The subject in the foreground is excellently placed to get ones attention right away.
Well done!
