Very nice illustrive piece on jazz and soul. I like the style you expressed through the composition and design. Good luck in contest. It's a good piece for the theme.

Blues..it was longer than soul or jazz..lol..I'm originally from the Mississippi Delta.. BB King hometown is 12 miles from mine ..course the only folks that is famous from town is Jim Henson who graduated from my school. That is also where he got the idea Kermit the frog from his classmate Kermit Scott. Jim Henson never did say where he got the idea about Ms. Piggy. However, many women in my town could have fit the bill. Lol..Dorothy Moore from Motown.. black country singer Charlie Pride is from 20 miles away. Oh yeah Football legend Archie Manning is 12 miles north..lotta blues come from there cause it really is depressing seeing nothing but cotton fields for 200 sq miles of this flatland. Everyone is trying to find a way out! Lolol.. thanks for the great review

Talk to you again soon brother, I have a lot of new ideas I wanna shoot past ya. Peace, John oh and ya I dig the blues, there all right by me . Just don't know enough to make a witty cool comment:)

I couldn't think where your landmark was so I googled it and I think it's a jazz area in Harlem??? So your interrpretation is just the ticket. Super design with lots of interest. Great sketching and colouring. Well balanced, emotive and fantastic impact.

Well it's easy to find..when your leaving Graceland you turn right heading north up Elvis Presley Blvd for a couple of miles till it becomes Martin Luther King Blvd(Hwy 51) and another mile you turn left on Beale street. Course you won't get to far except on foot since the street is blocked off for several blocks. Harlem is 1000 miles away. Here on Beale street is the home of blues that fathered rock and roll where 3 states meet at the Mississippi River. In this area inspired many creative artist who elevated from the Memphis area.. naturally the more known is BB King or Elvis. But did you know the following are also from that midsouth area.. Tina Turner, Issac Hayes, Cathy Bates, Justin Timberlake, Jim Henson, Morgan Freeman. This could go on ... that's The Memphis area..wink..thanks for the great review

Hi Mark, The feeling of the Blues or jazz came across very strongly in this image even though I'm not a fan of either. I think its pretty cool to convey a feeling so strongly the viewer knows what it is. Nice job of adding just the right elements to make this come alive. Great image for letting the viewer feel the essence of your landmark. Nicely Done! Good Luck in the Contest! :o) Nancy

I visited Florida etc once for a Poetry convention and yes, I can see this scene there. You are an amazing sharpie artist and have inspired many of us to buy them and use them. I tend to tidy up with them as I do not have the confidence to use them for the total works, having years of water colour experience.I am even having to learn acrylics.
