The diagonal position of the bird on the branch is pleasant to the eye of the viewer. The red beak draws our attention. The Cardinal is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

What is nice about this is the subtle contrast used. The cardinal blends in with the sticks because of the natural colors. This enables the eye to see the vibrant redand orange hues in the feathers. All this is a nice contrast against the soften white grey back ground. The colors create a chromatic visual effective affect.
