Great image Brian. Most disagree with me, but I really like dynamic and saturated colors. This immediately grabs the attention.

The scene is balanced (just a bit tight on the left) but that is no big thing and does not effect the wonderful eye appeal of this shot.

The colors are gorgeous. I like how you chose to photograph two stems side by side that are in different stages of blooming. The blurred background adds a nice contrast in color and allows the flower stems to jump out.

I think these are lupines . I like the rich purple tones. I love the way these flowers grow on the tall spikes.
Well focused, the image is clear, exposure is good, colors and tones are natural. This allows a good sense of how these flowers grow. Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!
