This is a wonderful close-up shot of the fern You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

This photograph has such beautiful colors! I love how the simple, beautiful background has no distractions, bringing the focus to the subject.

A very nice composition and a perfect color palette for this contest. Although the fern could be sharper, the form is beautiful. Best wishes in the contest.

I like how the soft light emphasizes all those shades of green. You captured good detail despite the soft appearance. The fern is excellently placed within the frame. The composition is balanced. The curls of the opening leaves above draw our eyes and interest.

Hi Nikman!
It looks like several people consider this photo to be less than technically perfect but ,Hey!,I like it! : D
It's pleasantly Unusual,it's Artistic ( in this Artists' opinion anyway! ),and it has the sort of 'Prehistoric' tone that amateur Paleontologists like me always enjoy!
'Good Show',my friend!

Sorry Nik, I am not a member of the high praise, high five club here on Far. Your focus is soft and your white balance/exposure is off showing several hot spots with loss of details.
Sorry, but this needs some work.
Understanding light/ white balance/ exposure using manual settings is crucial to Photography.

Hey Nik,

Very cool image. The main uncurling fern is well placed in the frame. The blurred background is perfect for emphasizing this beauty.

One thing that caught my eye are the three overexposed white areas. One on the top and one on the right and left on the stem part of the frond. Not a huge deal yet being that this is for a contest I mention it because I want you to do well in the contest. If those white spots could be toned down I think it would really help.

Otherwise an excellent entry for the contest Nik and I wish you all the best in the judging ~ Steve

I love ferns and it's intriguing to see the way they uncurl to open.
This is well focused, the image is clear, there are some hot spots that take away from the impact , look at the top of the stem, and both sides the center is over exposed. I like the green on green composition . I appreciate your effort.
