I am not so sure turkeys are beautiful but I know they are good to wat, LOL
Great image with amazing detail. Excellent focus. It does catchy your eye. It makes the viewer want to look and identify what it is. I am not so sure I would have pegged it as a turkey. maybe English turkeys look a little different than in the U.S. LOL.l

I really like the Close and personal approach and how well you have captured the shiny eye. I also think the light is falling on the bird in a lovely way. With the softened background the bird is also standing out in an excellent way.

Your Focus is spot on and Sharp showing Clear and well defined details in every part of the bird, and the exposure is Perfect.

The format and framing is fine and the bird has got a fine placement off to the left. A truly lovely and well taken photo, and With an excellent DOF.

It's not a Turkey Nik... Turkeys are much larger and look entirely different than a Duck.
This is a Muskovy Duck.
Nice portrait style with fine clarity and we'll enough white balance Control in the bright sun.

    Very many thanks! You could very well be correct about it being a duck because I am no expert on ducks or turkeys!!

thank you for this impressive shot. I live in a city and have lived in heavy industry towns and cities since about ten years old. I would like to paint some animals into my work at times, but except for dogs and cats, aren't really sure how some animals are made up, hence I spend all my time trying to persuade photographers to make books of their photos, as I know many of my pupils know even less than I do. This is a fantastic shot and if you give me your permission, I would like to draw it. I suppose it is because I have dealt with classes full of humans for more years than many of you have been alive, that life drawing is my forte!?

OMG! What a terrible looking bird this turkey is!! Wonder why we call a duck 'Ugly'! Excellent close up photography! The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

The light and shadow on this portrait is excellent with sharp focus on the eye of the turkey. Color and white balance are well handled with good exposure.

English ducks look interesting and different from the turkeys in America.
Your turkeys look like red-billed ducks with testi(s) on his face. :-D Thank you for sharing! I needed a real good laugh! <3

Nik,
That ain't no Turkey it's feet are webbed, it's a Muscovy Duck. They develop red wattles on & around their bills that become larger & more knobby with age. Their plumage colours can vary from the brown & white of this one to black and white.
Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.
Susan

    You can't see its feet in this shot! I am no expert on ducks or turkeys so my identification could be wrong. Very many thanks for your nice review!

a good close up portrait of a Strange duck rather than a turkey; good framing with sharp focus; good exposure for the red; unfortunately, the white is blown out;
