You have indeed pictured this Tern well, and it is posing for you in such a lovely way. It must be unusual to see this kind of bird sitting in the sand, but it offers a great background, and the bird is standing out from it in an excellent way.
The photo is pin Sharp and it is indeed Clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the bird. The exposure and white Balance is spot on.
I also like the way you have cropped the photo and the placement of the tern within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo Allan, and With an excellent DOF. I wish you Luck With the contest.

Although I would have preferred a shot level with the bird as I think being on the same level produces a better photo,but that aside I feel the photo taken looking down in this instant works perfectly well.mainly because the detail and exposure is spot on,well nice photo this...Brian

Hi Brian, great suggestion. Often I need to be reminded to get down with the camera and not take just from a position of comfort. I wish I had that shot now at ground level! Thanks.

A very nice exposure which is not always to get with bright sunlight on the sand. The tern is well placed in the frame and is shown in very fine detail. Best of luck in the contest.
