You are so imaginative in your artwork and also manipulation of digital. The is such a happy picture that draws you in to see the girl dancing or skipping in a meadow and spotting a golden frog. Makes for a good children's story. The colours are bright and cheerful, he composition is balanced and the whole framed beautifully.

She apparently is a modern girl which still honors the culture of her ancestors. She wears a modern dress adored with traditional needlework and jewellery. She seems to enjoy her life in the natural tropical surroundings of her home. The artwork is excellently composed. The colors are realistic for the tropical environment. The framing is adequate. The composition is balanced.

Hi Cleo, thank you so much! How are things doing there in San Antonio? Food is low in the stores here, money about gone, and the last institutions one wants to get involved with are the medical so I'll take my chances in my run down wood barn, lol I already went through the ventilator ordeal when my lungs collapsed in December 2016-Jan 2017 and pancreas went autoimmune; I coded and was projected to stay dead but here I am. Anyway, I think I already went through Corona virus end of February, that I got from an UBER driver... so on and so on... Still alive... Yes, the costumes in my story are a bit of a hybrid, but I did pay a woman $300 in 2004 to research them for me in historical references in New York libraries. Also, I think book, The Mighty Aztecs, had a variety of ancient women's clothing and hem lengths depicted. My British friend who wrote Azulejo Stallion ballad, read the manuscript, and insisted I tighten up the details in the story. I was fearful of doing more harm than good, but did to my surprise, go into one of my "writing trances" last night to bore into plot details and tighten them up some more. The project is already accepted by the publisher as it was, but with the virus crisis causing delays, I got more time and elbow room to obsess!! I juiced the illustrations up some more also, as the publisher has grand marketing plans for Christmas. Hard on my health to pull up this level of creativity, but I have managed. Will send you the update, maybe in a few hours....

Thank you for your informative comments.
Food and water supply in the stores is low here, but I don't have medical problems other than my bad eyes. I don't need much food and was able to by water every day.
Stay healthy and happy and keep up the good work. :o) ~C.

What a creation! I love the balance of the blue sky above the detailed landscape with all the butterflies and the golden frog. Looks like a great illustration for a child's book. The workmanship is excellent.

This is such a happy, carefree scene you have created! She is standing up on her toes like a ballerina and spots the golden frog on the interesting shaped log, I love the red and white flowers , the white puffy clouds and the butterflies, well created, arranged and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

Great work here Daphne. I really like the action of the girl and her Mesoamerican dress. Her pose is very nice and shows her pleasant surprise upon spotting a golden frog. The colors are well done as are the Morpho butterflies. A wonderful entry for the contest Daphne and I wish you all the best in the voting ~ Steve

This is a cheerful and colorful piece. The puffy clouds in the background are a nice touch. I like all the wildflower details. I think your frog could have been a little bigger as I thought it was part of a snake since the log looks like it has a pointed end. Otherwise, perfect! ;-)

Thank you so much -- your kind review is much appreciated. I actually re-posted as the colors had shown up neon which was not the case with the original. The frog is small, but is a tiny golden tree frog that shows up fine in the 8.5 x11 book it illustrates, but hard to see on this website!! Sorry about that visual issue...

Hey Daphne!
This is a nice composition you have created. The butterflies, frog, and monkeys are a nice addition to the frolicking native girl. The plant life is a nice colorful touch to the foreground. Good luck!

Cool,Daphne!
I can't say that I really know all that much about the MesoAmericans or their legends and magical practices ( which are quite extensive and interesting I've been told! ) but I'm certainly enjoying your colorful rendition of this young lady skipping along through the lush meadowland!
It makes for an interesting and enjoyable presentation indeed,my friend!

    I understand though,Daphne!
Color issues used to happen frequently with a lot of my drawings here too!
