It is indeed a beautiful trumpet flower you have pictured here Steve, and the colors of it are just fantastic. I especially like the selective coloring and also how well you have brought out the textures of the flower. I also think the light is falling on it in such a lovely way.
The flower is standing out from the dark background Sharp and well defined and it is indeed Clear and well defined details to be seen. The exposure is spot on.
The format and framing is Perfect and I like the slight diagonal placement of the flower within the frame. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken flower photo With an excellent DOF, and I wish you Luck With the contest.

I dunno' all that much about Flower Imagery but I'm diggin' he 'Colorful Blossom Set Against a Ghostly Background' look that this one has!
It makes for a 'Good Show' of a picture,my friend! : )
