Mark mentioned you this week so hoping to say hellow and welcome back.
I looked you up. You joined about the same time as me

I often did children's and cartoon or characature stuff so really appreciate seeing this type of style.

It's a fun picture. The car and scene show a good drawing ability. The colours have impact and I just love those flowers.

A quirky little presentation and very colourful palette.Congratulations on the big 4..0.. I would like to have seen the car positioned slightly off centre left and the road in front left open to signify the motion of the car and long road ahead for yourself.

My guess is 40? Did I get it right? There is another artist, MKFlood, that uses sharpies with his drawing. I have yet to get the secret of blending out of him. Perhaps you would like to share. I like your convertible and the way the line of blue in the sky traces its outline. Very original Tell your daughter that the best part of the drawing is the grass and the flowers.

It is nice that you are making your daughter to be part of what you are painting. The flowers are the beginnings of her artistic talents. The driver is still too young since he did stopped on the stop sign. Great painting!

I guess you turned 40, right? This cartoon is an imaginative creation. A bit surreal. Now who drives the car? It that a fish? Does that mean you had a wonderful fish menu at your birthday party? Anyway I like your cartoon. The colors are intriguing and emotionally uplifting the viewer. The artwork is well composed, balanced and framed.

hey man lets hit the road like nascar! (sqqquuueeeeelllllllll) lol.. couldn't resist. ok I know your learning with my medium bro. so be patient with me cause im teach ya a few things. lets go to the color light green it needs 2 coats of ink...now this is whatcha do since you have already laid down the 1 st coat, when you apply the 2 nd coat do it in a circular form and make sure that you cover all white. the circular 2 coat will help you blend out the lines and give it a smooth feel. now you did a great job with the sky. when you do only one coat of ink it will create lines. I use that at my advantage on certain textures. I think the lines in the sky help in the illusion of movement. so kudos to you on that part of the creativity. you did awesome on the car for the solid colors. im not certain if this is a 8x11 but a suggestion for future creations..if you do another car tire use something like a quarter or half dollar to trace. you still have to fill in the tire so no harm to make sure you have a cool circle form. I have many rulers but I always keep a lil 6 inch ruler with me for drawing. use measurements just like laying a project on floor. (I know you can relate to what im saying) I still like you creativity and color choices. so your on the right track. one time years ago a fellow sharpie artist asked me if I can give him some tips on shading and blending...I told him "yeah sure! only 3 words...practice...practice,,practice". I betcha he thought I was being a smartass but there is wisdom in those words. wink. very cool work john..keep on keeping.(thumbs up)

Hi John!
This is awesome and it's a different style for you! I like the way you show the blue sky and the white clouds framing the sun. I see the red car has just passed the stop sign. And the car is chugging along in the middle of the road, driving right over the yellow dotted line. It's a perfect choice of color for the car, it's got the number 40, hmm, could that be how old you turned? Perhaps you are showing how fast life goes by ! I'm curious about the driver, to me it looks like a type of insect, I love the foreground grass and the two flowers and feel that they add a special touch here! Very well created, arranged and presented! Thank you for sharing and I hope all is well with you and your family during this unique time!

Hey John,

I like the simplicity of this one. It appears rudimentary yet one can tell that it was an artist with talent that created this work. The colors are bold and the red and black really set the other off.

Nice work John. Hope all is well. We are here in Ajijic, Mexico on a staycation. Things are pretty crazy back home so we will stay here until the end of May . Hope all is well with you and yours John ~ Steve
