Always glad to see a post with 14 or 25 views.....so adding mine will surely get a blue medal of recognition or the gold all time best status award!

Have you seen an iris with no hair? Well, that would made me laugh, too! LoL! Because....!

Impressive close up showing great details, fine features and smooth textures...
Please don't clip tips!
If you crop, CROP more!
So viewers will know that you really have the intention of cropping it!

Is this an overcast morning?

Thank you for sharing!

It's a lovely bearded iris, I like the purple hairs.
Well focused, the image is clear, exposure is good on the flower, I see good detail in the petals and in the hairs. The color is so pretty, I would love to have this flower in my yard!
I would remove that bright spot on lower left. The eye will always Be drawn to the brightest part of a scene.

I do liked the clarity of focus on the main reason stated by you for having taken the photo.
I think as an overall composition though it needs some adjustments, the reason I say that the whites are overpowering the images main intent. I think cropping it so that the glare of the white areas are gone would make it a stronger composition. I think cropping it so that the image is the purple hairs would make it a perfect presentation. Thank you for the opportunity to give you my thoughts on why I rated it as I did.

A beautiful picture of this purple bearded Iris it's petals yet to open fully . The green foliage contrasting with the purple of the Iris. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

A nice looking iris with a good background of leaves. The colors, especially of the beard, are peculiar but quite attractive. Best of luck in the contest.

an excellent entry to the spring photo contest; I'am Always surprised by the quality of pics taken with a cellphone; outstanding sharp details, just a bit too bright: you could improve it by darkening ;

A very enjoyable entry into the competition posted here! Your fine, almost central, macro style composition grants us a lovely view of your pretty bloom. The detail in the petals is wonderful! Well done and good luck.
