A great looking bird that is shown in very fine detail. I like the detail in his plumage and the setting full of gum tree flowers. A well composed shot with excellent colors.

Mary, what a catch you got here.

I've never seen one and to have them in your yard is amazing.

Details on the bird itself are excellent... if not for the blurry leaves in front, it would have been worthy of a six :)

Thanks again Eileen - yes was quite windy so just couldn't quite get leaves sharp. These ones wake us up around 5am and we even moved our bedroom further back in the house instead of at front but they are just so loud along with the Rainbow Lorikeets

Wow! This is a gorgeous and very interesting bird to see! I love the red wattles!
It's a sleek looking bird with a beautiful face !
Well captured allowing a very good look at him in the flowering plant .
Well focused, this image is sharp and clear, exposure is correct, the colors and tones are natural. Especially appreciate that clear eye!
Well composed and presented!

Another classic bird photo from you Mary and what a bonus that these are in your garden, its not easy to get good images of birds like this when they are half hidden in the foliage like this, but you have done well getting the detail in the feathers , the light is perfect again for nature photography!

Thanks so much Mark - think he was happy after getting rid of the smaller honeyeaters - all those flowers to him and his family :)

Well sometimes flight is the better part of valour! Not surprised your Honeyeaters fled after that long, sharp beak captured in your fine and classical composition! Exposure and sharpness are good. Well taken!

A nice shot of this Honeyeater, and although the subject is beautifully focused with great sharpness and detail, the foreground unfortunately becomes a slight distraction as result of it being very blurred.
