Interesting composition and wonderful detail on this Honeyeater. Natural colors and wonderful background work very well for this photograph; hope the bird finds better pastures.

A beautiful bird with some great color in its plumage. I like the head down pose among the eucalyptus leaves and the square cropping. A sharp image with great colors.

Sounds like your garden shrubs are a bird battlefield! Who do you prefer to come out on top? Your nice nature image is well composed with good exposure and sharpness. Well taken!

Thanks Nik - I like the little honeyeaters even though they are a lot harder to photograph as they flit inbetween the foliage and are quick :)

Thanks Eileen - this is the first time I have seen the White Plumed ones in our tree normally only see them in parkland or wetland.

A gentle-looking avian species...
Was he really looking down when you took this shot?
Sharply focused.
Subdued illumination.
Nice framing.
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.
Thanks so much my friend for

Hey Mary,
Very instructive narrative for this one. You have such beautiful birds there.
The pose and orientation of this White Plumed Honeyeater is eye catching and well placed in the frame. The background is a little busy which takes away from your fabulous capture of this bird. Not a big thing however.
A great image Mary. Good eye for seeing this one ~ Steve

Nice timing to capture this beautiful bird in this position on the interesting plant.
I see good detail over every part of the bird,
Well focused, this image is clear, exposure is well managed, colors and tones are natural. Well composed and presented! Your notes are informative and appreciated too!

a great photo, love the colours , the tail feathers are awesome, interesting how birds fight, I constantly watch crows chase ravens around, even blue jays chase them, your camera technique is quite good here

Thanks so much - yes the larger Wattlebirds are very territorial and very frightening to little birds as they swoop from all sides.

A much better presentation from your last Honeyeater as a result of a perfectly clear, sharp focus throughout the subject and the surrounding foliage..the bird must have realised and came back for a second go and you were lying in wait ! This is a lovely presentation with a nice balance of subject and background

Thanks Neil the wind had calmed down a little which helped with the leaves - frustrating sometimes you can get the bird in a clear spot for 2 seconds then the wind blows the leave around but guess that is the challenge. :) Mary
