I like to read others' comments especially when they are wrong; lol;
your focus IS sharp as inferred from the center of the flower and all vegetation around; the bright red "petals" give a wrong impression of not beeing sharp;

This is ra really pretty and interesting flower. I love how it surrounded by all the reeds. The diagonals of those creates a cool abstract looking back drop. The clarity and sharpness could be a little better but still a great shot!

I like that the Cacti flower looks like a fire flame among the thorns/needles.
Unfortunately white balance and exposure needed to be handled better in order to have better clarity and details on the flower.
The only way to shoot in the bright sun any time of day is to use Kelvin Scale to control white balance. A setting of 5000k
with a low ISO around 200 to 400 with a high shutter of 1/2500 or higher and an exposure bias at zero or minus 1.0.
It of course depends on your lens choice for f/stop. But I would use f/4.5.
White balance can be Controlled on any color in the bright sun as long as one shoots full manual.
Living in Florida I shoot white birds/ flowers in the hot bright sun and it is possible to do it with correct camera settings.
It's a nice find and capture, but some work is needed on camera settings in order to get a sharp well exposed view of this flower.

The untouchable flower bloom really stands out in this well composed photograph, Lucien! Great composition, details and natural colors makes this a presentation of this one of a kind.

    Jirinal,

    Good morning,
    The hardest part for me always, is shooting in harsh direct sun light, like in the desert. I agree cacti, do have some of the most amazing flowers designed by nature to attract the right creature to help with pollination.

    Thank you once again for your time and comments on my photo.
    Take care, cheers,

Very nice capture of this open cactus bloom,the beauty and softness of the flower contrasting against the sharp,strong needles on the cactus.It should be quite a sight once the other buds open up. Like that bright red color and yellow center,looks like there's a bit of pollen spread around inside!

The red flower sits well amongst the rest of the plant,but it needs to be pin sharp in this to stand out a bit more,pity as its a nice little shot....Brian

This is a fine piece of Nature Photography. This clearly shows how we can find beauty even amidst ugliness which we otherwise ignore. The entire composition, colours, light make this first rate. Well Done!

    MK,
    now that is a great imagination at work. yep you should do a piece like that, like with the cactus all messed up in the back ground. from what you have written you have the idea, now you need to create it.

This capture is superb. I like that there are two rows of emerging blossoms visible, even as they are hidden within the needles. Those rows are like tangents of a triangle which point out and emphasize the full open blossom at the corner. The panorama format seems perfect for this composition. The cactus blossom is excellently placed within the frame. The photo is well focused and exposed. I enjoy the realism of color and light and the refinement of detail. The center of the blossom is especially interesting. The pollen seems to powder it with golden dust.
