Hi Lucien, thank you for posting this fancy pigeon , it's one that I have not seen before. I can certainly see how this one got its name. I love the frills! Typical pigeon head shape, well focused, this image is clear, nice detail in feathers, well exposed, natural colors and tones. Impact would increase it there was a glint in the eye. The cage doesn't bother me as it supports the location it was captured at.
Well presented! Your notes are informative and appreciated!

    Pat,
    Good morning,
Thank you once again for your time and comments on my photo, they are appreciated.

The cage had to be there to show where the shot was taken and then it helps verify the story of the pigeon show and at this one there were 7000 various breed on display. I will post some more breed in the near future.

    Take care. Be safe,
    cheers.

Since you say so I believe that this a real pigeon. Those feathers look indeed rather like frills on a dress than part of a bird, Nevertheless the cage in the background and the alert pose and look in the eye amplifying that this bird is real. The photo is well focused and exposed. I appreciate the realism of color and the sharpness of detail. The tight framing is adequate. The bird is well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

    You're very welcome!
I understand that the cadge has to be there. I did not mind to criticize it. I mine The cage and it shadows are a needed object which also shows the reality of the location. :o)

If not only for the cage, he would look like a realistic stuffed toy or a porcelain figurine for a wedding giveaway!

Rara avis!
When I was a kid I was really interested to have homing pigeons as my pets...

Better if we can clone out the cage & change the background color to show the tail in contrast. The muffs need to be shown distinctly also as they are quite unique!

Subtle lighting...
Here's looking to seeing more rare breeds soon!

Thanks for sharing...

    Dick,
    you are welcome, my pleasure.
Thank you for your time and comments, all are very much appreciated.
My artwork features that breed most of the time. I used to fly them, racing homers.
If I had removed the cage most would not believe it is real. For me it adds to the realism.
    Take care and be safe.

Nice close up of a lovely pigeon in reddish brown. The clarity and presentation is very nice and portrays the creation excellently. The feet are nice, but the feathers is the most interesting part the way curl like flowers. Nice Photo. Thanks
