I feel sad for this little guy! I wonder where the parents were. The Canada Geese I've seen usually take very good care of their goslings. You captured the action and the water drops in mid air very well.

If I had 6 stars- you would have had that rating from me...sorry! I love this sweet photo and am saddened to think what happened in the end. At least his short life was captured by you! I not only like the gosling, but the water droplets that are surrounding the bird was an amazing part of this photo. The close up view of your subject was a wise choice rather than including unnecessary background elements. As you have done, the gosling, in my opinion, should be the major focus of this photo. You are telling a story in this piece, and that was well done.

my first thoughts on this are, that this is dark art. you can see the duck struggling to get up. maybe a picture of when it was on the grass would have been better.

This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

please read the significance of stars before writing comments! especially when they are inappropriate!
there are lot of pics with the goslings on the grass but you can't find another in action like this one!

Absolutely charming Fred I love those splashes of water as the gosling is trying to get up out of the water, I have seen this event many times and they are usually following mum and she will be waiting just out of shot, right place at the right time springs to mind!

Fred,
A beautiful stop action picture of this the smallest of the "Three Musketters" Canada Geese struggling to get out of the water your fast exposure freezing all movement & the droplets suspended in the air. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Great picture of this Canadien goose that is jumping out of the water into a dry land. The details with the droplets are just beautiful and the overall presentation is well done.

A very nice shot. I like the diagonal run of the embankment. The detail in both the gosling and the splashing water are excellent and the colors are very nice.

Oh no!.poor little guy!
Great capture. Clear details of the water drops and the baby duck! The piece of the duck? In the lower left corner is a little distracting, but over all great picture!
