yes nature is..the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this youngin trying to get out of the water is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

Yes, nature does eliminate the weaker ones quite mercilessly. Personally, I would have cropped out the cygnet(?) in the bottom right hand corner. Your composition does show us the strain and effort being employed to try and get out of the water. Nicely done!

I just came back from the lake: he survived!

So sad it does certainly look a difficult climb for the little one - good timing once again for the capture with natural color and great focus. Like the little splash of water.

That is so sorry for this to happen to this little one, at least you have a couple of memories to look back on. I guess that is part of life to be able to survive in this old cruel world. Don't you wish that you could just lend a hand, I know that I would if I could. This is one of those photos that shows that you got to learn how to make it on your own when Mom or Pop is not around. The framing is well done to be able to catch him coming out of the water and the water splashing off of him is definitely something to see. Keep an eye on them and thanks for sharing. Jack
