A stunner Fred what a moment to capture and I like the idea of that fun title, this is typical heron they just freeze moments before they strike as if like a statue, really love the reflections and the off set composition this make the heron look into the vacant space, light and detail spot on!

a lovely wildlife capture, pin sharp focus and clarity highlights the wonderful plumage on the bird, deep but natural saturated colours, great eye capture,
the heron is really well placed in the scene to include the reflection which adds depth. lovely.

Fred,
A beautiful picture of this Grey Heron eyes fixed below the water looking for movement that might indicate it's next meal swimming past while it was standing on one leg it's other foot poised to pounce on the Fish. The reflections on the water are an added bonus.. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Quite an interesting nature shot posted here! Wonder why its foot is out of the water? Thought they got fish with their beaks? Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely done!

    thanks so much again;
    he was just Walking and as usual I was joking;
    they have a long beak and certainly much easier to capture a fish rather than with a toe..

Another great picture of the Heron,captured in action,although I am fully aware that they move in slow motion ,it is the patience that the photographer must have as there have been times when I have say for hours awaiting some sort of movement from this fine looking bird,but, well worthwhile every time. Your structure is excellent as is your sharpness of focus
