A nice shot of the heron with fully closed nictitating membrane (similar to an eye lid). He is probably not sleeping but rather just blinking. A nice looking closeup in a fine setting.

i betcha if ya holler "BOO!" he would be wide eye..lol.. nice capture. the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the angle of the shot of this sleeping birds facial is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

A beautiful sunlit profile portrait of this Grey Heron the sun's golden rays reflected in the Heron's sharp beak while highlighting it's closed eye & it's plumage. Your sharp focus makes it almost possible to count each feather. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
