A beautifully mastered piece with excellent tonal control throughout.The misty scumbled background works well allowing the enhancement of the shading through the subject to contrast well with it.There is nice lighting that falls upon the subjects face

Wow! This looks like a photograph! The details in the eyes is fantastic. All the shading on his face and brows gives great dimensionality. The shading on his neck muscles and ears just completes the perfect impression of this portrait.
