A very nice shot with fine exposure for the white feathers. Unfortunately this is not a duck, it is a seagull. Best wishes with the CECC but I would replace this image with one that will not be disqualified while there is still time.

What a striking portrait of this Gull. The bold pose instantly captures the attention of the viewer.
The colors are well done and natural. The shallow depth of field really emphasizes the eye, which is the main subject of the image.
The whites are bright yet not blown out. The light blue background emphasizes the portrait.

The colour of this bird is great, the eye really matches the beak, and I probably would not have noticed but for the perspective it was taken, love the blue background being not too strong to showcase this white plumage here

The close p is very good. You controlled the lighting well and the whites are not blown out, the detail are really good as well.
The observer can easily and quickly connect with the bird. Nicely taken and presented.
I however, do not think a sea gull is a duck.

Nice close up! That eye ball is super crisp. Background color contrasts is outstanding. How close were you to the seagull? I love taking bird portraits.
