Harmonious colours. Fine features & textures. Excellent colour and tonal range. Skilful technique: excellent blending of your chosen mediums. Bravo!
PS: Get well soon!

Over all the angle of the pose is interesting and draws you into the drawing.
The flesh tones using the media are good.
I am wondering why the colors in the hair, an attempt the tie the background and figure together visually? A little bit more of those different tonal values there, especially where the hair wisps out would have made the effect better.

As I have said aura, are hard to make them fit into the composition without them overpowering the main subject, in this case it works because of the color being repeated in her hair.
The models left shoulder look unfinished, and as it com around to the arm it looks a little flat, fro me needs to be rounded slightly.

her facial features are nicely propositioned.

I think this piece as well as the others, shows your understanding of the media.

Thank you for allowing me to critique your drawing.
Have good rest of your day.
Cheers.
Lucien

p.s., I do not think the frame adds to the presentation.

Thank you for your five star vote and your detailed critique. While I disagree with some of your observations I do see what you are talking about. I have to ponder these comments in order to visualize in my mind how it would change the drawing.

I just reviewed number 4 so I was a little ahead of myself here Carl. I agree with your use of pastels. My uncle was an artist and did many portraits most of them in pastels. Since I am not an artist I can only say that portraits done in pastels gives a special look and feel. They give a less than sharp image which to me is much more human looking if that makes sense. This one conveys self confidence, experience and also the softer side for which we men are so fortunate to experience.

As mentioned in the last review, a college of this wonderful works would make for a wonderful visual essay.

Great work carl ~ Steve

like i said before..i would offer her a free sharpie/bic tattoo..i would try to sell her on to let draw a mouse on her thigh. the pitch would be the drawing of the mouse is being chased by a kitty(wink wink)..smart tail would say.."it would be a great mouse trap!"..im sure i can come up with more..lol.. this is excellent. the facial is excellent. the body form and language is excellent. the shading is excellent. the blend of the colors is excellent. the depth is excellent. the creation is well balanced and very eye appealing to the viewer(even a crazy cartoonist). very creative and awesome work overall(clapping)

Wow, two six star votes from you. I am more than pleased. Thank you very much. I have two more in this series to post after this promotion ends. Then I am moving on to other paintings. I think I have gained enough skill to finish Grand Canyon XI.

Thank you for your five star vote and your comments Sean. I appreciate both. Also, when all six are seen together it is rather overpowering, where ever you are in the room the six command attention. I rather like that.

I am enjoying your series of female portraiture in pastel.Impressed that you have been able to retain the same effects with the chosen medium without any slight change. The fleshy tones and backdrop have remained consistant throughout, well done
