Cacti always produce these amazing flowers. My present one has huge pink blooms when it flowers. Others have had yellow or red. I always have one or two cacti, as I tend to kill off all others. Beautiful flowers. Amazing stamens!!

Overall a pretty photo :) I do like the texture also created by the 'points' of the cactus surrounding the flowers. Flowers, soft and pretty, their surroundings, show you how harsh and rugged! :D
Thoughts though: A very tight crop, needs more space to allow those beautiful flowers to 'breathe'.
The one in the top left, possibly because it has been 'cut' off, distracts from the full two. It could be cloned out very easily. A little extra brightening overall, the shadows are very dark, the whites and yellows, perhaps a little brighter to pop against the green cactus.
Good luck in the competition Lucien, :)

Ann,
unfortunately the image was framed in the cameras lens as displayed here, I did not crop it. I do not have any programs that I could be used to clone out the flower as you suggested. With that being said, I think it adds depth and perspective to the composition, that I though was nt harmful to the overall flow of the image.
I think the main flower demands the viewers attention, and there is where my eye settles when looking at this photo.
thank you for the review of my photo.
You have a very nice day.
Cheers,
Lucien

Interesting photo of the trio of flowers. The interior of the largest bloom is especially well focused, and the tinge of pink on the upper petals give a nice contrast to all the white.

It's nice to see white balance Controlled in the bright sun. It can be done and I tire of the excuses members give here on shooting in the bright sun.
When manual settings are used, it can be done.
You have sharp focus showing great clarity and details.
I find the 3rd partial flower in the right corner to be a distraction.
For a Contest, I would clone that out. The crop is a tad tight on top and bottom, but you managed to keep both flowers within the frame. I also find the watermark to be a distraction when viewing this.
If you fix this, let me know, I will change my rating.;)

Sanga,
unfortunately none of what you see as issues, is nothing i can change without compromising the integrity of the image, its flow...
The camera lens framing is tight, was not cropped. the flower in the corner gives it a certain depth and perspective, again the angle I could come in on this flower, dictated what was in the frame.
thank you for the critique, it is appreciated.
Cheers,
Lucien

Very, very nice detail and exposure on the whites. My only suggestion would be is to remove the bloom in the upper right corner to give the full attention to the other two blooms. Very beautiful shot Lucien.

Yes... it works. To see such beautiful flowers in the vicinity of cactus is amazing.the placement of the flowers in this pic is very artistic and the magenta colour at the tips is looking so lovely.Even the stamens are so delicately visible....overall very good pic

Artistsushma,
thank you for your critique of my photo, it is appreciated.
Sometimes what you see and what you capture are what you wanted the end item image to be, in this case I am very pleased with the photo, and I am pleased you see that in the image as well.
Have a nice day.

Gorgeous flowers, great focus, sharp details and a nice balance between subject and backdrop. Not sure if the flower in top right offers any thing to the presentation as it becomes a distraction due to it being half cut off.
