An excellent shot of this greenfly walking on the Stapelia grandiflora. Great focus and such clarity showing the hairs on his tiny legs and on the plant! Very nice!

This green fly knows how to walk the walk. Great colors and details of this photograph makes this a wonderful presentation of a life in the small insect world. Great composition, Supergold!

I had a friend who was a master gardener and he grew one of these flowers. I can't imagine having one in a greenhouse. A beautiful shot with excellent focus on the fly's eye.

Super close-up shot of the green fly walking on the flower. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

Great macro shot supergold! Creepy yet cool looking flies are. Lol. I love the metallic green body. The wavy flower petal looks sand In the desert. Great creative shot!

Fred,
A beautiful picture of the iridescent green Blow Fly walking in among the hairy centre of the foul smelling Stapelia Grandiflora. The light shining on it's gossamer wings & it's iridescent green thorax & abdomen, red eyes & the red striped yellow & hairy centre of the flower. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
Susan

I do like the sharpness of the front of the fly panning through to the unfocused back wing.
I know that means some wouldn't class this as a 'true macro', but to me, it still is, and a favourite style of my own (though it has not influenced my stars given). I feel it gives a gentle beauty that way.
Some lovely detail shows through, the little hairs on the legs, the detail of the wings. Also the hairy details of the Stapelia grandiflora. :)
And feel it is actually balanced by the small piece of darkness up in that top corner. Interesting image.

Keep creating,
Ann, OpenroadFootprint

PS: I am sure I reviewed this only a handful of days ago, but it has come up on my feed and with nothing in the box, maybe i only thought I did ;) so apologies if I have somehow inadvertently done a double review.

It's a fantastic click... the fly is walking very cautiously on the flower. The veins of the flower are nicely captured.the composition is very good and the colour of the fly is contrasting against the yellow petal

A good close up of this green bottle fly resting upon what appears to be a very hairy flower. The picture is sharp and well structured throughout.Good use of the macro Lens

A very good looking nature shot posted here! Would never have guessed your fly was on a flower!! Your fine and classical, macro style composition, offers us a very enjoyable view of both of them. Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely taken!

    many thanks again;
    if you smell the flower and look at its center, you'll understand why it attracts flies..
