I love it, this looks very real and alive and give 6 stars for the content, but the plane the fruit is on looks like a vertical wall, not a table.

Wow thanks for your encouragement and top marks. The background was meant to be unobtrusive and a foil. I think I will put a line just under the rim of the jar and slightly darken the standing area to look like a dark wood table surface, just hinting at a surface and wall.. What do you think.

A great choice for the contes,this is very well presented and is well balanced. i like the subtle detailing in the quince and the sheen of light on it,along with the shading,gives this fruit depth. The jam on the French bread really looks quite delicious! A very artistic still life entry with beautiful colors,all the best to you in the contest!
