Put me in that cold water and see how fast I move!! Wink..lol. The clarity is great. The capture of the light is great. The angle of the shot of this bird running in the water is great. The image is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall

This is an exquisite stop-in-action. I am impressed by the sharpness of detail and the realism of light and color. The pose of the bird is interesting. It looks as if drying its wings while hunting for food. The photo is swell focused and exposed. I appreciate the realism of light and color and the sharpness of detail. The bird is perfe3ctly placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

Thank you so much for your detailed, thoughtful review! This bird just landed and then took several big steps through the river. I love to watch them.

What a great shot, very nicely timed! Shorebirds are definitely a lot of fun, this one is quite amusing, taking those huge steps, looks like it is trying to balance itself with those open wings, almost as if it is walking an invisible tightrope! Very well focused and exposed with natural colors and lots of room for it to walk into,an excellent capture!

Love it! Wonderful shot of this shore bird in mid step in the water. Focus is sharp and I like how he is seeming to walk through the photo. Great photo!

Thank you so much Kristi, we were camping here for about 10 days, lots of shorebirds and Eagles!

I like how the photo is divided into three sections with the dark background, the light rocky middle ground, and the brilliantly colored bottom with the various green hues. The bird seems to be part of the attraction of the photo; I think the display of various textures also plays a large role in the great aesthetics of this photo.

Nicely timed shot Pat.

I love how this bird looks like it just barely wants to get wet.. step high and wide and keep them arms up! haha

Lovely tones and textures to be seen.

Is he training for any Olympics event?:) A fine shot of the bird! You have timed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

Oh very cute capture! Love the 3 levels of contrast here Pat with the water, then the rocks, then the deep shadows. The shorebird, then stands out so well in amongst it all. Nice and clear with great detail through the feathers, then the most wonderful catchlight in the eye, bringing it to life! Love it. :)

Keep creating,
Ann, OpenroadFootprint

this time I am fascinated by the stripey water, as the pebbles seem to be all shale! In England the water is grey-blue but in New Zealand by the Nipon Clip-on Bridge, I saw that it changed from blue to green as it flowed East I think! So I checked the Anchor River is a stream on the Kenai Peninsula. Beginning near Bald Mountain on the eastern side of the lower peninsula, if flows generally west /blue?/ into Cook Inlet near Anchor Point. The middle reaches of the river pass through the Anchor River and Fritz Creek Critical Habitat Area. The lower river intersects North Fork Road before reaching Anchor and the Anchor River State. Is it this mixing of waters, or after all that, is it just the light?

This was an evening shot, so the colors is because of the light. It is showing green in a sunny day. I am impressed by your research on this river, it?s a wonderful place to be, this is at the mouth where it joined by Cook Inlet .
