Nancy,
A beautiful picture of this pair of juvenile Trumpeter Swans the "Tail Wind" blowing their feathers about while the sun highlights their cafe au lait coloured plumage & the green edible foliage that is both nourishing & surrounding them. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

    Hi Susan, Love how you referred to this as "Tail Wind"! "Tail Wind" was one of the names I was considering when I posted this. The conditions were just right for the feathers to ruffle as they did, so I was happy I was there at the right time to capture it. I'm glad you enjoyed the shot and felt I did a good job capturing it, Thanks for the great review! Stay Safe and Healthy My Friend! :o) Nancy

a great entry Nancy to the wildlife photo contest with these windblown swans; Iam surprised by the light brown color; are they juveniles ? in our area, the juveniles are light grey; very sharp focus;

    Hi Super, Yes! They are juveniles. I've always seen the juveniles here in the northeast with this light brown coloration. I've never seen the grey version. I would think that they would be light grey as you say, but they're not. Very cool though knowing you see juvenile swans in a light grey mode. Thanks for sharing that info and for the wonderful review! :o) Nancy

no how about this one...the swan in the front says to the female in the rear.."Honey, are you mad?"..the swan in the back says in a low voice..."im not talking to you!"..he says "but honey..."..she keeps saying "im not talking to you!". oh i can go on and on to that story..wink..lol. the clarity is great. the capture of the light is great. the angle of the shot of the rear view of these swans is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

    Hi Mark, It's always fun to imagine different story lines for an image like this. The fact that you were doing just that means I presented this just right! I can see your imagination going 1000 miles an hour! I felt so lucky to capture a moment like that! Thanks for the great review and the story lines. :o) Nancy

A well composed image of the two cygnets as the wind lifts the plumage. The focus is sharp on the eye of the one turned. Color appears to be realistic and the background does not take away from the image.

The pose of the swan at the left and windblown feathers of its sibling on the right are indeed intriguing. Your photo is well focused and exposed and has good depth. Light and colors appear realistic. The birds are well placed within the frame. The composition is balanced.

Yes, it's a pretty good looking entry into the competition posted here! It does, indeed look as if their lovely location might be blown apart by a misunderstanding. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

    Hi Nik, Actually these two were not fighting it was the wind that ruffled the feathers. I have to admit It does look as if there was a misunderstanding between the two.I'm glad you enjoyed these two juvenile swans. Thanks for the review and your wishes for the contest! :o) Nancy

A nice looking pair of youngsters. I only see these tundra swans as they migrate through this area so they are a real treat. Good details and great colors. Best of luck in the contest.

    Hi Mike, I'm sorry you don't get to enjoy the swans as young cygnet chicks. These two in my eyes would be in their teenage period. I'm glad these two were a treat for you to see. I imagine any you get to see while out and about are a real treat during their migration. Thanks for the wonderful review and wishes for the contest! :o )Nancy
