Hi there
This is a very excellent entry into the b&w contest. Looks like that storm broke soon after this image so I hope you didnt get soaked. All the very best! R

A great scene to render in black and white for the contest. This has all the elements for a wonderful photo.
Because this is for a contest there are a couple of items worth noting: The foreground has too much black and loses details. The lighted grasses makes the rocks look overexposed. Silhouetted rocks look great if done correctly. The water and waves in midframe appear a bit muddled and lack clarity. The clouds are nice and ominous and could be a bit sharper. Also, it appears that the horizon is tilted a bit to the right. I could be wrong.
There is time to make a few corrections to this one. I hope you do as this is a Great scene and you had a good eye for seeing the potentials.
Best of luck in the contest ~ Steve

Moody, dark and foreboding scene. The story this photo tells me of a cold fall day with weather building ahead of a storm. The foreground is lost in shadows and is hard to correct without using lightroom or some other program. It may be my imagination but I have a feeling that your horizon is a touch tilted.

Very moody scene, very well suited to the Black and white , it really supports the mood. I like the sky detail here with the clouds bringing a sense of motion. It's a well placed horizon line leaving more room for the sky and giving depth to the scene. I like the light and shadows on the water and foreground.
Well focused, this image is clear, exposure is well managed, I see good tonal variations in the Black and white. Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

This is a unusual presentation. You required a paint like appearance of this seascape with the softness of your focus. This is interesting, because too soft focus is often a mayor flaw of photographs, but you turned it to your advantage. Your photo has excellent depth. The contradiction of dark and light is enthralling. The seascape is well composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

I am enjoying the view of your black and white contest entry. It is definitely creative and imaginative. The contrast is well done. And black or white or color I love the ocean. A nice contest entry. I wish you the best of luck.

A pretty good looking entry into the competition posted here! Your fine and traditional composition could have captured almost any UK coastline. Where in the world did you get it? Nicely done!
